The Babies Room

We've picked out the Nursery collection, and can you believe it - it doesn't have any monkeys! I figure not everything for the baby needs to be all about monkeys, but the ones I already have will fit right in.
If you want to look at everything, the collection is called CoCaLo Sahara Collection and they sell it at Target.com and JCPenny.com. At Target it comes as a 6 piece bed set, where at Penny's it's only a 4 piece bed set, But at Target we can use Grandpa's discount! Target also has the growth chart and picture frame that penny's doesn't have. (it's all cheaper there too)
When we start a baby register, we will add the collection to it but if you want to look at anything now here's the web link.

6 Weeks

Today is feels real.
We went in for our ultrasound today and it's confirmed we have a baby on board.

My official due date is now October 7, 2009!
There wasn't much to see in the ultrasound but the litte sead above but we did get to see the heartbeat, and that was an amazing moment. It no longer feels surreal, that momment took all questions away and made us realize we really are going to be parents.
Dr. Pavelka is still not sure when I actually ovulated but he said that he will take credit for the pregnancy even though he didn't have to do too much. :) R and I were a little bummed that we have to find a OB now and couldn't keep him, but he helped us like we needed, so we are thankful for that. We'll just miss his personality and charm.
After going to the Doctor, R and I spent the day looking and shopping for baby stuff. We went to Rosedale mall where we found a huge deal on some Christmas outfits for the little one. (That's right we are already getting the baby ready for Christmas!) Then we went walking around Babies "R" Us, where R decided on everything Orange. If it wasn't Orange or wasn't on Clearance, R wasn't buying it :) But shopping made us realize there's a lot to do in the next 8 months.
Our next step is to find an OB now. Dr. Pavelka suggested 2 office for us to go look at, which it's really deciding on a hospital cause one office goes to one hospital and the other goes to another hospital. But I'll be calling on them to see when our next appointment will be.
For now we will enjoy the quiet moments of knowing we are going to be Mom and Dad!

One Week Down and Counting

So it's been one week since we found out and it's still kind of surreal.
Besides my normal acid reflex, I haven't really had any other real symptoms yet. Now I know in a while I am going to regret saying this, but I wish I had something. Now I don't wish that so that I'm in pain or throwing up or anything like that, but more to make this not so surreal- let the reality kick in!
Maybe in a week when we go for our ultrasound that will help. I guess I can go another week without the morning sickness! I'm just so impatient!

It's Confirmed!

I went in for my second blood test on Thursday January, 29th.
They called and said that my HCG should have doubled and it went from 75 to 187 confirming that I am pregnant!
Our 1st ultrasound is on Feb. 11th @ 10:00am.
I know there will not be a whole baby in there when we go in but I can't wait to see what our little poppy seed looks like :)
It's still surreal! I can't believe it. Everyday Me and R say we still can't believe it. I'm still waiting for something that makes this all a little less surreal- maybe when the morning sickness kicks in, LOL!

Telling R and the Family

Telling R he is going to be a Daddy is a story for the baby book.

I didn't want to tell R over the phone so I had to keep it in from 3:30pm in the afternoon tell I got home from work at 6:00pm.
I couldn't keep my mouth shut the whole way home, so in comes the bestest friend! I had to call Haley so that I could tell someone. Again the first to know about the important things in life. I later told R that she was the first to know and text her back so she knew I wouldn't be calling again for her to reenact her excitement once R knew.

R had just went to urgent care because he's foot is infected and we didn't want it to get anywhere like his toe did a year and a half ago, so we had went in to get it looked at earlier in the day and they had given him some antibiotics to take as well as an antibiotic shot right in his ass!
I had to swing in at home to pick up the onesies that I had bought a year ago for when we found out we were pregnant.

I got to the farm and had to find away to get R alone so I could tell him the test came back positive. He wanted me to look at his ass where he got the shot so we went into the bathroom where I pulled off the band-aid off his ass and then turned and looked at him and pulled a onesie out of each pocket and said "Which one cause the test came back positive!" R's responce was the same responce he got from me when he asked me to marry him,
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!"
I've never seen him so happy!

We had to wipe the tears and put on a stright face so that we could go out and tell Ma and Pops, Ma came over and gave us hugs and just as fast grapped the phone to call Nancy and Jay, Troy and Ryan, Bummer and Nikki, Tim and Anna and Grandma Mary.
I know they were over joyed as they have been waiting as long as we have.
I called Grandma Mary to tell her and she said she hopes we have a girl!
It was Ryan's Birthday so they were all out for dinner and Ma told them later that night.
Tim called R back so he got to tell his brother that it's his turn to be the Uncle.

We decided we needed to go down to my Mom and Dad's house as well.
So on the drive down, I called Angie and told her. Called my Grandma and told her. My mom called both of us while we were on the phone, so Grandma called mom back and talked to her, knowing the whole time I was on my way down to tell her she's going to be a Grandma!
I also called my cousin Lisa and asked her how her birthday was going and told her I could make it better cause her cousin (me) is going to have a cousin (our baby) to play with it's cousin (her baby boy) she got so exctied that she stalled her car. Our kids will be just like us, 6 months apart! When I got to my mom and dad's we walked and amd mom asked what we were doing there and just said "we had to see what one Grandma and Grandpa liked more", pulling the onesies out. Mom started balling and Dad said they would have to get a smaller car so they could make the trip to our house more often! :)

WE ARE PREGNANT!
After 13 months of trying, numerous trips to 4 different doctors, and in
our first "actual" month of trying we found out we are pregnant.
I went in for a blood test on Tuesday January 27, 2009
and when the Dr. called back he said in the most nonchalant way,
"Your pedestrian hormone is at 18.23 which is a positive ovulation,
so then we ran the pregnancy test
which came back positive with your HCG is at 75."
Taking notes of what he had to say, I read that I was pregnant before
it actually sunk in! I know he gets to tell people they are
pregnant all the time but he could have made it a little more dramatic!
Since it is a BIG DEAL!
This makes me
3 Weeks and 5 days along.
He wasn't sure exactally when I ovulated because the low HCG suggested the 15th
of January and my tempatrues suggested the 8th of January.
So he wants me to come back in
for another blood test to see if my HCG number goes up.
So my next test on January 29th.
